To work alongside the Erskine community to design inclusive social and conservation projects that can help to protect and regenerate the riverfront along the River Clyde.
Erskine has a vibrant riverfront area along the River Clyde with an array of inclusive social and conservation activities that locals and visitors can enjoy.
Erskine Riverfront Development Trust was originally conceived during a special meeting of Erskine Community Council, following a community campaign opposed to a planned development that threatened a woodland and wildlife habitat. Attendees recognized the need for a body dedicated to protecting Erskine's natural environment and regenerating its urban spaces, as identified in the 2016 Erskine Charette. ERDT was registered as a company limited by guarantee in September 2024.

Engage Renfrewshire
We are working to bring this significant plot of land by Erskine Harbour into community ownership. Our vision is to preserve and enhance its rich biodiversity, including protected species and vital wetland habitats, while developing it for conservation, educational, and recreational activities for the community. This includes plans for improved paths, ponds, wildlife habitats, and educational signage.
Establishing a community workshop space in permanent premises to provide the community of Erskine with a place for skill-sharing, repairs, building projects, learning, and social connection. We are supporting efforts to establish this under the ERDT umbrella.
Organizing regular litter cleanups in collaboration with Renfrewshire Council's Team Up to Clean Up initiative and running campaigns to raise awareness about the impact of litter on the riverfront environment and encourage responsible waste disposal. We aim to contribute by picking 100 bags of litter in the next year.
Support our work and become part of the Trust by becoming a member. ERDT has a two-tier, democratic structure with a voting membership distinct from the managing committee. No fees are charged for membership.
